Balance release branch 4 has been forked based on Balance 3.34, release 3.57 has been set to deprecated.
Balance is our open source load balancing solution being a simple generic tcp proxy with round robin load balancing and failover capabilities.
Its behaviour can be controlled at runtime using a simple command line syntax.
Upcoming: Balance V4
Finally, the next Balance release V4 is on its way. Here’s a preliminary short list of features:
- Rewritten from scratch targeting modern Linux 64bit systems
- Released under GPL V3
- Consistent Highest Random Weight hash distribution only (utilizing the f2568() tabular hashing function)
- TCP-open health checks
- 6to4 and 4to6 proxying
